What the tour is like

You meet at a dock in Holmes Beach, receive a safety briefing and board a comfortable boat with shade and bow seating. The two-hour loop takes you out into the Gulf, then back across the waters of Anna Maria Sound and Sarasota Bay. Guides work both sides of the island, watching for dolphins, manatees and rays. Bring your own drinks — food and beverages are listed as not included, and two hours in Florida sun is longer than it sounds. Kirby, who sailed in January, counted “maybe 15 people” aboard.
